Frequently asked questions.
Answers to common setup and buying questions.
How do I pick the right Ghana eSIM plan?
The best value depends on how long you stay and how much data you use, so there is no single best price for every trip. Compare the pricing: the 1 GB plan at €13.49 is the most affordable and the cheapest of the three, and runs 7 days. For a longer stay, 3 GB at €40.19 or 5 GB at €66.79 both last 30 days. Each is one total for the whole period, not a daily refill.
What network will I connect to, and does 5G work?
Listed networks: Vodafone Ghana. Connects to 4G/LTE where available. 5G is not confirmed on this plan. Speeds and signal vary with your phone, location and network conditions.
Is my phone compatible with this eSIM?
Check that your exact phone model and regional version support eSIM, and that the phone is network unlocked. An eSIM is a virtual SIM card built into the device rather than a physical one. On an iPhone running iOS, look for Add eSIM in Cellular settings and No SIM Restrictions under Settings, General, About. On Android phones, for example a Pixel, find the option under Network & internet, SIMs, Add SIM. Use the compatibility guide for your manufacturer's steps before you buy online.
Do I install the eSIM before my trip?
Install this eSIM card over a reliable Wi-Fi connection and save the supplied instructions. How the validity period starts depends on the activation directions that come with your plan, so follow them exactly. At your destination, enable the travel line and select it for mobile data. Don't count on instant installation; allow time for the profile to download.
Can I make calls or send texts with this plan?
No. This plan offers data only: no local phone number, standard voice calls or SMS. You can keep using an existing messaging or internet-calling app over data. SMS codes sent to your normal number still need access to that SIM and depend on your home carrier's roaming terms.
Can I use hotspot to share data with my laptop?
The listed networks support hotspot. Any device you connect draws from the same data allowance. Tethering works the same way: turn on the phone's data hotspot and every connected device draws from the same total allowance. Pause laptop updates and cloud backups if you want to keep more data for maps and messages.
Will this eSIM work for mobile money or SMS verification?
The plan provides internet access, not a Ghanaian phone number or SMS service. Any service that needs a local number or an SMS verification code has its own requirements. Existing bank or messaging accounts may work over data, but verification messages sent to your regular number still depend on your home SIM and carrier.
Is the data allowance renewed daily?
No. Your chosen data amount is shared across the whole validity period and any hotspot devices, with no daily renewal and no unlimited allowance. One day of heavy use just reduces the total. Watch the phone's data meter, but remember it may not match the provider's accounting exactly.
How do I get extra data or extend my stay?
Check the purchase options and the instructions for a next plan. Do not assume a new purchase extends an existing profile or carries over unused data, and do not assume top-up amounts or rules that are not stated. This is a prepaid one-off total, not a monthly subscription; if you want a no contract purchase, confirm that in the terms before you buy another.
What should I do if I have no signal or data?
Check you are in Ghana, the travel line is enabled and selected for mobile data, and the plan still has data and validity left. Apply only the APN and roaming settings supplied for that eSIM. Briefly toggle airplane mode or restart, then try another location. Keep the eSIM installed while you ask support for help.
How do I prevent my home SIM from using data?
Select the travel eSIM as the mobile-data line, switch off automatic data switching and keep data roaming off on your regular SIM. If the travel plan requires roaming, apply that setting only to its line. Calls and texts on your home number may still run up your home carrier's charges.
What do I need before contacting support or asking for a refund?
Keep your order reference, phone model and a clear description of the problem ready. Read the purchase conditions for refund eligibility, especially after installation, activation or use. Do not delete the eSIM while a connection problem is still being investigated.
Using your eSIM in Ghana
A Ghana eSIM for your travel plans
From an Accra airport pickup to a Cape Coast Castle visit, a tourist on holiday or someone visiting family needs mobile internet for addresses, host messages and saved bookings. On a short vacation, WhatsApp messages and the occasional YouTube clip both draw from the same allowance, so size it around those tasks and leave large downloads to Wi-Fi.
The storefront offers three data plans and no 1 day or one day option, and no 14 days or 2 weeks tier in between: the shortest validity is 7 days and the longest 30 days, which is not always one month exactly because a calendar month can be 28, 29, 30 or 31 days. The 1 GB plan at €13.49 is the cheapest of the three. For a longer trip, 3 GB at €40.19 or 5 GB at €66.79 lasts 30 days. Each price covers one total allowance for the whole period, not a daily refill, so weigh the data amount against trip length.

Listed networks: Vodafone Ghana. Connects to 4G/LTE where available. 5G is not confirmed on this plan. Speeds and signal vary with your phone, location and network conditions. Check routes before longer drives. Indoor walls, network load and your location all affect signal quality, and coverage is not guaranteed on every road between towns. There is no best coverage claim to make for any single operator, and this plan is not a promise of uninterrupted service.

Accra: agree exactly where to meet.
Before you land at Accra's airport, get a pickup point from your host or driver and save the accommodation address. Ghana Airports Company lists airport taxi and car-hire details, including metered taxi fares. Follow the signs at the airport and agree the fare with your chosen service before leaving.
An arrival message can include your terminal, exit and a nearby sign so the driver knows where to wait. If someone needs to reach your regular phone number, remember this data plan carries no local number and no standard voice calls, so agree on an app-based contact beforehand.
Save the hotel pin for the trip back after a meeting or city walk. On a short stay, spend mobile data on directions and messages, and use the accommodation Wi-Fi for app updates and photo backups.
Save before you goArrival terminal, driver's app contact, accommodation address and booking reference.
Cape Coast: plan the visit and your return journey.
Cape Coast Castle is one of the UNESCO-listed forts on the central coast, along with Elmina Castle, and Kakum National Park lies about 39 km north of town. Check visitor arrangements before you travel and leave time for the site itself. Save the entrance location separately from your accommodation or onward stop.
If you pair Cape Coast with Elmina or Kakum, fix the order of stops and the return pickup with your driver or organiser. Use data to confirm any changed meeting point, then keep the details offline for the drive. A sightseeing list is not a current transport timetable.
Have your booking and guide contact ready before you arrive. Hold off on big photo uploads so your remaining data covers the return journey and messages to your host.
