Frequently asked questions.
Answers to common setup and buying questions.
Which data plan should I buy for my travel dates?
The 100 MB and 500 MB options suit only light messaging and pulling up a booking. For a week of maps and browsing, weigh 3 GB for 7 days at €2.27 against 5 GB for 7 days at €3.68. On a longer stay, 10 GB for 30 days at €7.19 or 50 GB for 180 days at €35.30 leaves more room, but size the allowance to your heaviest days rather than the trip length alone. The lowest price is not automatically the best price for a fortnight; recommendations should follow your actual data habits.
Which mobile network and speeds will I get?
Listed networks: Optus Australia. Connects to 4G/5G where the network offers it. Speeds and signal vary with your phone, location and network conditions.
How do I check whether my phone can use this eSIM?
Confirm your exact model supports eSIM and is network unlocked. On an iPhone, look for "No SIM restrictions" under Settings > General > About. On a Pixel, the path is Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Add SIM. iOS and Android steps differ, and regional versions can vary, so check the compatibility guide for your manufacturer.
When should I install the eSIM and start using it?
Install over reliable Wi-Fi and keep the supplied instructions saved offline. Follow the activation steps for your purchase; the exact start of validity depends on those plan instructions and is not confirmed in these listings. There is no instant installation guarantee, and if your order includes a QR code, scan it only as the instructions direct. On arrival, select the travel line for mobile data.
Will I get a local phone number for calls and SMS?
This is a data-only plan, so there is no local phone number, standard calls or SMS. Bank and verification codes sent to your regular number still depend on that SIM, your carrier and the sender. Check your home carrier's charges before you leave the regular line switched on.
Can I use my eSIM as a hotspot for other devices?
The listed networks support hotspot. Any device you connect draws from the same data allowance. Every connected device draws from the same allowance, and tethering works the same way. The data hotspot is included on the listed network. Pause system updates and photo backups while you are on a small plan.
Does my data reset each day or roll over?
No. The allowance shown is the total for the whole validity period, not a daily amount. There is no 1 day option, so even a one day stop means a 7-day plan. A trip of 14 days needs the 15-day option, and 2 weeks is not the same as 30 days. A 30-day plan runs close to one month but does not line up with a calendar month, and it is still a fixed total, not unlimited data.
Does this plan work outside Australia?
These offers include Australia only. For an onward stop, check the explicit country list on any separate plan. The operator's brand does not extend your included territory.
What should I check if mobile data won't connect?
Confirm you are in the included country, the travel line is enabled and selected for mobile data, and the plan still has data and validity left. Apply the supplied roaming and APN settings to that line, then try airplane mode or a restart. Keep the profile installed and note your device model, location and order reference when asking for help.
How do I avoid roaming charges on my home SIM?
Keep data roaming off on your regular SIM and turn off automatic mobile-data switching. Any roaming setting the travel eSIM needs applies only to that line. Calls and SMS on your home line can still run up carrier charges.
Can I add more data or get a refund later?
Before you buy online, check the purchase terms and available order options, and do not rely on a top up or profile reuse. Buying a second plan does not automatically extend the first, and these are one-off plans rather than a monthly subscription. The label "no contract" is a search term, not a promise in the terms, so read the purchase conditions. For help or a refund request, keep your order reference and setup details to hand.
