Frequently asked questions.
Answers to common setup and buying questions.
How do I pick the right plan for my Barbados trip?
For light maps and messages, 1 GB for 7 days at €3.99 is a sensible starting point. The 3 GB data plans come in 7, 15 and 30-day versions, so pick a duration that covers your last travel day. Heavier photo sharing or data hotspot use points to 5 GB, 10 GB or the 20 GB 30-day plan. Video on YouTube and cloud backups burn far more data than directions, so compare the pricing against how you use your phone online. There is no single best price or best value across the board; treat these as recommendations and check your own history.
What network does this eSIM connect to?
Listed networks: Flow Barbados. Connects to 4G/5G where the network offers it. Speeds and signal vary with your phone, location and network conditions.
Where can I use this plan?
Barbados only, on the Flow Barbados operator's network. Neighbouring Caribbean islands are not covered, so any best coverage claim is limited to that single network on the island.
Will this eSIM work on a ferry or cruise ship?
Use the plan wherever the supported Barbados network has coverage. It does not include a ship's Wi-Fi or satellite service, and offshore reception is not guaranteed. Download tickets and send pickup messages before you board.
Is my phone compatible with this eSIM?
Only compatible phones that support eSIM and are carrier unlocked will work, so check your exact model and regional variant before you buy. An eSIM is a virtual SIM card stored on the phone rather than a removable chip. Confirm against the compatibility guide and the manufacturer's instructions. On an iPhone running iOS, look for the carrier-lock entry under Settings, General, About; on Android the path varies by brand and version.
When should I install the eSIM?
Install the eSIM card profile over a stable Wi-Fi connection and save the setup instructions, including any QR code you receive. Follow the plan's own instructions for activation and the start of validity; installing a profile is not necessarily what starts the clock, and 'instant installation' does not guarantee instant activation. On arrival, select the travel eSIM as your data line.
Does this plan include a local number, calls, and SMS?
These are data-only plans, so there is no local phone number and no standard calls or SMS. Apps such as WhatsApp can carry messages and calls over the internet allowance instead. Bank verification texts still rely on your regular SIM and carrier, so check that line's roaming charges if you keep it switched on.
Can I tether my laptop to this eSIM?
The listed networks support hotspot. Any device you connect draws from the same data allowance. Tethering a laptop draws from the same fixed allowance as your phone, so leave large downloads and backups for Wi-Fi.
Does the data allowance reset daily?
No. Each plan is a fixed total allowance for its stated validity, not a daily allocation or unlimited service. There is no plan valid for 1 day (one day) or 14 days; the shortest validity is 7 days and the next step up is 15 days. For a trip of 2 weeks, choose either the 7-day plan or the 15-day plan, because no plan is valid for exactly 14 days. Thirty days is not the same as one month or a monthly subscription, and 'no contract' is a search term rather than a promise, so read the purchase terms before you buy.
How do I get more data?
Check the top up and purchase options supplied with your order before buying more. A separate buy does not automatically extend the current plan, reuse its profile or carry forward unused data, so read the terms before paying. Keep the installed eSIM in place while you work out the next step.
What steps should I take if I have no internet connection?
Make sure the travel line is enabled and selected for mobile data, and that the allowance and validity have not run out. Apply any supplied roaming and APN settings, then briefly switch airplane mode on and off or restart the phone. If the signal is weak, move to a spot with better network service. Keep the profile installed and have your order reference, phone model and location ready when you ask for help.
How can I prevent my regular SIM from using roaming data?
Turn off automatic data switching and disable data roaming on your regular SIM. Apply any required travel-eSIM roaming setting only to the travel line. Calls or texts on the regular SIM can still carry your home carrier's charges, so leave it off unless you actually need it.
