Frequently asked questions.
Answers to common setup and buying questions.
Which Malaysia eSIM plan matches my data use and trip length?
The cheapest listed plan for a short stay isn't automatically the best value for a longer trip, and no single plan offers the best price for every visitor. For maps and messages only, 3 GB for 7 days at €2.19 is enough and cheaper than 3 GB for 30 days at €2.43. If you'll stream or upload photos daily, 10 GB for 30 days at €7.66 leaves more headroom. Every offer is a fixed total allowance with no daily reset, and the 50 GB plan's 180-day validity stretches time, not data. Match the plan to your actual data use rather than the price alone.
Will 100 MB or 500 MB be enough for my needs?
The 100 MB and 500 MB seven-day options are tight. A few WhatsApp messages or one arrival task won't use much, but YouTube streaming, maps with imagery, app updates and photo backups can drain them fast. For navigation across several days, compare the GB options and keep downloads on Wi-Fi.
What networks does this Malaysia eSIM connect to?
Listed networks: CelcomDigi Malaysia, U Mobile Malaysia. Connects to 4G/5G where the network offers it. Speeds and signal vary with your phone, location and network conditions. Connection quality still depends on your location, phone and network conditions.
Is my phone compatible with this eSIM?
Confirm your exact model and regional variant support eSIM and that the phone is network unlocked. Compatible phones run iOS or Android. On an iPhone, Settings > General > About should show No SIM Restrictions next to Carrier Lock. Check the compatibility guide for model-specific steps.
Should I install the eSIM before leaving home?
Install over reliable Wi-Fi and save the supplied instructions offline. Follow the plan's activation steps, since installing the profile and the start of validity may not be the same event. On arrival, enable the travel line and set it as your data line.
Can I still use my messaging apps and keep my regular number?
Your existing messaging account stays usable online through the travel eSIM's data. The plan carries no local phone number or ordinary calls and SMS. An SMS bank code or app verification still routes through your regular SIM, so check that carrier's charges if you keep the line on.
Can I tether a laptop or tablet to the eSIM hotspot?
The listed networks support hotspot. Any device you connect draws from the same data allowance. Everything you connect through tethering shares the same data hotspot allowance. Pause laptop updates and cloud backups, particularly on a smaller plan.
Does the plan work outside Malaysia too?
The plan covers Malaysia, including Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak where the listed networks are available. It does not cover Singapore, Thailand, Brunei or the Indonesian side of Borneo.
Is the data allowance unlimited or refreshed daily?
Each offer is a fixed total for its stated validity, not unlimited and not reset daily. There's no plan valid for 1 day in this catalog; the shortest validity is 7 days. If your vacation is exactly 14 days, a 15-day plan covers it, and a stay of 2 weeks fits within 15 days. One day of heavy use still draws from that fixed total. Remember that 30 days is not the same as one month on the calendar. Choose enough data and days, since hotspot devices share that total.
Can I top up the plan or extend its validity?
Check what your order includes before counting on a top up or extension. A separate purchase won't automatically extend an existing plan, carry over unused data or reuse its installed profile. These are prepaid plans rather than a monthly subscription, and no contract is implied; confirm the purchase terms for anything you're relying on. Leave the profile installed while you sort out a problem.
What should I check if the eSIM shows no internet connection?
First confirm you're in Malaysia, the line is enabled and selected for data, and the plan still has data and validity left. Apply the supplied roaming and APN settings. Toggle airplane mode briefly or restart the phone, then try another spot. If it persists, keep the eSIM installed and contact support with your order reference, phone model and location.
How do I stop my home SIM from roaming and charging me?
Switch off automatic mobile-data switching and keep roaming disabled on your home SIM. Apply any travel-eSIM roaming setting only to that travel line. Your home carrier can still charge for calls and texts even while the eSIM provides data.
What do I need for support or a refund request?
Have your order reference and installation details ready when you contact support. Read the purchase conditions for refund eligibility, how activation or use affects it, and any no-contract or cancellation terms. Don't assume a used plan qualifies, and keep the installed profile in place while a connection issue is investigated.
