Mauritius 1GB eSIM

For a short, light visit, 1 GB over 7 days costs €2.19. The 3 GB, 5 GB, 10 GB and 20 GB plans each run 30 days, so the best choice depends on your stay and how much you stream or share a hotspot. That small 1 GB plan is affordable for a week of light browsing, but solid hotel Wi-Fi cuts what you need; 5 GB costs €10.19 and suits moderate use. These recommendations assume moderate use; heavy YouTube streaming pushes you toward 10 GB or 20 GB.

Listed networks: Cellplus Mobile Mauritius. Connects to 4G/5G where the network offers it. Speeds and signal vary with your phone, location and network conditions. Real-world quality still depends on your phone and your exact location.

Before you buy, check your model's eSIM support online, then confirm your exact phone model and regional variant support eSIM, and that the device is network unlocked. On an iPhone running iOS, check for Add eSIM in Cellular or Mobile Data settings and for No SIM restrictions under Settings > General > About. On Android, look under Settings > Network & internet > SIMs for an Add SIM or Set up an eSIM option. The eSIM card itself is a downloaded profile, so nothing is posted to you.

Install on reliable Wi-Fi before you travel and save the instructions. Installing a profile and starting its validity can be different events, so read the activation notes for your purchase; don't assume instant installation or that the clock starts the moment you scan the QR code. On arrival, enable the travel line and choose it for mobile data.

Your existing WhatsApp account works over the travel eSIM's internet connection. The plan has no local phone number and no ordinary calls or SMS. Bank text messages still depend on your home SIM, carrier and bank, so check that line's charges before you leave it switched on.

The listed networks support hotspot. Any device you connect draws from the same data allowance. You can use tethering to share the travel eSIM's data with a laptop; anything you connect draws from the same total allowance. Pause automatic updates and photo backups if you want the data to last the trip.

This plan covers Mauritius only; other countries aren't included, and Rodrigues isn't confirmed by the country listing. Signal still depends on your exact location, so keep essential bookings and route maps offline.

No. The offers each carry a fixed total for their shown validity, with no daily reset. There's no plan that lasts 14 days, so a stay of 2 weeks falls on a 30-day option; 30 days is roughly one month but not a calendar month. One day is not offered as a package, and there is no 1 day option either. It's prepaid data rather than a monthly subscription. Check the purchase terms before relying on any 'no contract' wording.

Review the available data plans before your allowance runs out. Follow the instructions attached to a new purchase; don't assume a top up extends the old plan or reuses the same eSIM profile. Keep the current profile installed while you sort out any account or connection issue.

Check you're in Mauritius, the eSIM is enabled and selected for mobile data, and the plan still has data and validity left. Apply any supplied APN and roaming settings to the travel line only, then toggle airplane mode or restart. Move somewhere with better reception if needed. Keep your order reference and phone model ready if you ask for help; don't delete the eSIM as a first step.

Turn off automatic mobile-data switching and keep data roaming off on your home SIM. Apply any required travel-eSIM roaming setting to the travel line only. Calls and SMS on your regular number still follow that carrier's terms.

Read the pricing and purchase conditions before you buy, and keep your order reference. Refund eligibility depends on the applicable terms and on any activation or usage. Leave the installed profile in place while a connection problem is being investigated.
