How it works
Pick a plan, add the eSIM to your phone, then connect once you're in Mexico.
01Choose your plan
Choose data and validity that cover your trip. Save the setup instructions for offline access.
02Install before you fly
Install over Wi-Fi using your plan's instructions. Check when the plan's validity starts.
03Connect in Mexico
On arrival, turn on the eSIM and select it for mobile data. Keep data roaming off on your regular SIM.
Compare ways to get online in Mexico
Use prepaid data on the phone you already carry. This is how PikoeSIM compares with a rental router, home-carrier roaming and a physical SIM.

Frequently asked questions.
Answers to common setup and buying questions.
How do I pick a Mexico eSIM plan?
The cheapest listed plan, the 100 MB plan valid for 7 days, suits only a few essential messages. These data plans are fixed totals; there is no plan valid for 1 day, as the shortest duration is 7 days. The 1 GB plan valid for 7 days at €2.12 handles light messaging and maps when downloads happen on Wi-Fi. For a longer vacation, compare a 3 GB plan for 15 days at €5.98 with a 10 GB plan for 30 days at €19.53; a trip of 14 days is 2 weeks, so 15 days leaves a small buffer, and 30 days is close to one month. There's no single best value or best price for everyone, since affordable pricing depends on your usage. Hotspot and tethering are included features, but they draw from the same allowance. These are one-off prepaid plans, not a monthly subscription. My recommendations: match validity to your trip length, then pick an allowance you'll actually use.
What networks are available in Mexico?
Your eSIM can use Movistar Mexico, which offers 4G/LTE and 5G, and Altan Mexico, which offers 4G/LTE only. Which operator you connect to depends on what's available, your phone and your location. A listed network isn't a promise of coverage in every building, on every road or at sea, so we can't claim best coverage.
Is my phone compatible with this eSIM?
Your phone must support eSIM and be network unlocked. Check the exact model and regional version with its manufacturer. Apple lists iPhone XS or later as compatible and explains QR code and other install methods in its setup guide; iOS and Android devices vary, so confirm your own device first. Use whichever install method your purchase instructions provide. See Apple's eSIM setup guide (opens in a new tab).
When do I install it, and when does the clock start?
Install over reliable Wi-Fi whenever the supplied instructions allow it. There's no instant installation guarantee, and installation isn't necessarily when validity starts, so don't assume the clock begins at install. Check the plan's activation trigger and any first-use deadline in its purchase instructions before you enable it.
Can I still use my regular number for texts?
On a compatible dual-SIM phone, keep your regular line on while the travel eSIM handles mobile data. Turn off automatic data switching and keep data roaming off on your home line. Home-carrier charges still apply to calls and texts, and the travel plan has no local phone number for SMS verification.
Can I hotspot data to a laptop?
The listed networks support hotspot. Any device you connect draws from the same data allowance. Laptop updates, cloud backups and video calls all draw from the same allowance, so pause background downloads and watch your usage. Tethering a laptop over the data hotspot works, but it can empty a small plan quickly.
Will one plan cover my entire Mexico trip?
One plan works across Mexico wherever its supported networks reach, so you don't need a new eSIM in each town. Border crossings fall outside this country-only coverage, and remote areas or ferry crossings can still have gaps.
My data won't connect. What do I do?
Check the travel eSIM is enabled and set as your data line, then apply any roaming or APN settings from the purchase instructions to that line. Confirm the allowance and validity still have data and days left, then toggle airplane mode or restart. If data service still fails, use Wi-Fi to contact support with your order reference; keep the installed profile while they investigate.
Can I top up or get a refund?
Check the purchase conditions for top-up availability, expiry and refund eligibility before you order, and read the terms online before you buy. Don't assume unused data rolls over or that every plan can be extended. 'No contract' is a search term, not a confirmed seller policy. Keep your order reference and activation details for any support request.
