Frequently asked questions.
Answers to common setup and buying questions.
How do I pick the right Morocco eSIM data plan?
Look at the data plans and compare the offers by allowance and days. The cheapest plan isn't the best value if you'll use data daily and end up buying a second one. A one day arrival still gets a full 7 days of validity, so don't overbuy for a quick stop. For a two week visit (2 weeks, or 14 days), 3 GB over 15 days at €3.52 is an affordable middle ground. Choose 10 GB over 30 days at €11.29 for a longer stay. The best price for you depends on real daily use, so move up to the larger options only if you'll stream or share a data hotspot.
What network does the Morocco eSIM use?
The listed operator is Maroc Telecom on 4G/LTE; these plans don't list 5G. We can't promise best coverage, since signal depends on the network and your exact spot. Reception drops inside medina buildings, on mountain roads and beyond town, so save your route and next stop before you lose the connection. Listed networks: Maroc Telecom. Connects to 4G/LTE where available. 5G is not confirmed on this plan. Speeds and signal vary with your phone, location and network conditions.
Does this eSIM include a phone number for calls and SMS?
This travel eSIM is data-only: no local phone number, no ordinary voice calls and no SMS. Messaging apps such as WhatsApp run on the data connection instead. If your phone supports dual SIM, your home SIM can stay active for its number, though your home provider's charges still apply. Switch off automatic data switching and data roaming on the home SIM so it doesn't burn data quietly.
What devices are compatible and how do I install the eSIM?
Check eSIM support for your exact model and regional variant, and confirm the phone is network unlocked. An eSIM is a virtual SIM card added to the phone rather than shipped, so install the eSIM card over reliable Wi-Fi using the QR code or steps in your order. This works on many recent iPhone and Android models (iOS or Android). Treat 'instant installation' as a search phrase, not a promise; setup still takes a few minutes on Wi-Fi. Read the activation and validity notes before you start, since installing and the start of a plan's validity are not necessarily the same step. For iPhone, see Apple's eSIM setup guide (opens in a new tab).
Is sharing data with a laptop via hotspot allowed?
The listed networks support hotspot. Any device you connect draws from the same data allowance. The data hotspot and tethering features draw from the same allowance. Background updates and cloud backups on a tethered laptop can eat a small allowance in minutes, so pause them before sharing and watch usage on each device.
Does the eSIM cover areas outside Morocco or remote routes?
Morocco is the only covered country, so don't expect service in a neighbouring destination or during a connection elsewhere. Inside the country, buildings, terrain and network conditions shape reception. Download maps and confirm transport before you leave a solid connection. Western Sahara is not separately confirmed in these plan details.
What can I try if the data connection fails?
Confirm the travel eSIM is enabled and chosen as the mobile-data line, then check its instructions for roaming and any APN settings. Verify the plan still has data and valid days left. Toggle airplane mode on and off, or restart the phone. Keep the installed profile while you collect your order details and the exact error for the support contact in your order.
Does a larger data plan extend the validity days or renew automatically?
Allowance and validity are separate. Each of the listed offers pairs a fixed data amount with a stated number of days, so choose both for your trip. A 30-day plan is not the same as one month, and these are one-off plans, not a monthly subscription. A finished or expired plan does not renew on its own. Looking for a 'no contract' option usually just means a one-off purchase, so still read the terms. Before buying any top up, check its expiry and how it affects the remaining days.
