Tanzania 1GB eSIM

When selecting an eSIM card for Tanzania, the 1 GB plan runs 7 days at €3.39 and suits light messaging and maps. The 3 GB, 5 GB, 10 GB and 20 GB data plans all last 30 days, giving you room for a trip of 2 weeks or 14 days with heavier use. There is no 1 day plan, so even a stopover of one day buys the 7-day minimum. That 30 days is a validity window, not one month on the calendar, and it is not a monthly subscription. The cheapest listed option is the 1 GB plan, but the best value is the smallest plan that actually covers your trip; pricing is per fixed total and an affordable option depends on your real usage.

Listed networks: ZAIN/Celtel Tanzania. Connects to 4G/5G where the network offers it. Speeds and signal vary with your phone, location and network conditions.

The listed networks support hotspot. Any device you connect draws from the same data allowance. The data hotspot and tethering features work the same way: every connected device draws from the same allowance, so switch off automatic laptop updates before sharing a small plan.

No. These are data-only plans with no local phone number and no standard calls or SMS. Keep using your usual messaging apps over data. If a service demands an SMS code, this eSIM cannot receive it, so keep a separate number handy if that matters.

An eSIM is a virtual sim card stored on your phone, and compatible phones are unlocked handsets with eSIM support, so check your exact model and regional version rather than assuming. On an iPhone running iOS, look for Add eSIM in mobile service settings and check the carrier-lock status; on Android, open the SIM settings to see if an eSIM can be added. Install over a reliable internet connection using the instructions supplied with your plan.

Install over dependable Wi-Fi before you leave and keep the setup steps to hand. Do not count on instant installation; give yourself a few minutes on a good connection. The exact moment the validity clock starts is not confirmed by the supplied details, so follow the activation and validity notes that come with your plan. Select the travel eSIM for mobile data when you are ready to use it.

These are Tanzania plans, so moving between the mainland and island locations included does not by itself call for another country plan. Reception at a remote lodge, park or island property is not guaranteed, and we cannot promise best coverage anywhere. Save the safari itinerary and transfer documents offline, and ask your accommodation or safari operator for recommendations about connectivity there if a connection is essential.

Check you are in Tanzania, the eSIM is enabled and set as the data line, and the plan still has data and validity left. Follow the roaming and APN instructions for the plan, then briefly toggle airplane mode or restart the phone. If signal quality is poor, move to another location. Keep the profile installed and have your model, location and order reference ready when asking for help.

Whether you can top up, carry over unused data or extend a plan depends on the terms supplied with your order; do not assume a new purchase extends an existing plan. These are prepaid plans without a rolling contract, but 'no contract' is not a promise about the seller's refund or renewal terms, so read them before buying. Refund eligibility follows the applicable purchase conditions and any activation or use. Keep your order reference.

Set the travel eSIM as your mobile-data line, turn off automatic data switching and keep data roaming off on your regular SIM. Apply any roaming instructions for the travel eSIM only to that line. Your home carrier may still charge for calls or texts on your regular number.
