Start by checking the pricing for your travel dates and how much data you normally use on holiday. Among these data plans, the cheapest plan does not automatically give the best value, and there is no single best price for every trip: the 500 MB package costs €0.37 for either 1 day or 7 days, so the real difference is validity. For a holiday lasting 14 days, which is about 2 weeks, a 15-day plan leaves a one day buffer; 3 GB / 15 days costs €1.30, while 10 GB / 30 days costs €3.92 if you need more. These recommendations assume typical browsing, and what is affordable depends on your total trip cost.

Only compatible phones that support eSIM and are not carrier-locked will work, so check your exact model and country of purchase. On an iPhone (iOS), look for Add eSIM in mobile settings and No SIM restrictions under Settings, General, About; on Android, the path is usually under Network & internet. Install on solid Wi-Fi and save the steps offline before you travel; if the plan arrives as a QR code, scan it while you are still connected. Follow the activation guidance that ships with the plan, because installing and starting validity can be two different events. Do not count on instant installation; give the line a moment to register, then set it as your data line when you arrive.

WhatsApp and similar apps work over this internet connection without changing the number your contacts see. Standard calls and SMS are not part of the plan. A bank text still arrives on your regular SIM through your home carrier, so check what that line costs before keeping it active.

The listed networks support hotspot. Any device you connect draws from the same data allowance. When you run a data hotspot, every connected device draws from the same allowance, so pause large downloads, system updates and cloud backups while tethering. Streaming video or YouTube drains a shared plan fastest.

No on both counts. Each plan carries a fixed total allowance for its entire validity, and moving between cities or sharing via hotspot does not begin a new daily amount. These plans do not include monthly subscription features; a 30-day plan lasts 30 days, which is not one month on a calendar. Searching for a no contract eSIM simply means prepaid; still read the purchase terms before you buy.

Only within Turkey. A Turkish operator name does not carry this plan across to northern Cyprus or any neighbouring country, so do not rely on it after you cross the border.

Do not assume a top up extends validity or reuses the same profile; check the options supplied with your order first. Buying a separate plan does not automatically carry unused data forward. Keep the eSIM installed until the instructions or support tell you to delete it.

First check you are in the supported part of Turkey, the line is switched on and set as the data line, and there is still allowance and validity left. Follow the APN and roaming instructions that came with the plan, then briefly toggle airplane mode or restart the phone. If the signal is weak, move to another spot. Keep the eSIM installed and give support your phone model, location and order reference.

Switch off automatic data switching and keep roaming disabled on your home line, then set the travel eSIM as the data line. Calls and texts on your regular number can still trigger home-carrier charges even while the travel line handles the internet traffic.
